How to remove the top cover of a Samsung washing machine. Disassembling the washing machine Samsung washing machine how to disassemble

When a serious breakdown occurs in a washing machine, it must be disassembled for repair. For example, wear of bearings or wear of the cross shaft on the tank. You can do this yourself if you strictly follow the rules for dismantling the elements of the washing machine.

Top-loading and horizontal-loading machines are designed differently. When disassembling, take into account the characteristics of each type.

Horizontal loading

The device contains:

  • inlet valve and water supply valve,
  • water supply hose,
  • fan,
  • drying condenser,
  • pipes,
  • filter,
  • cuff,
  • air duct,
  • heating elements,
  • drying chamber.

With vertical loading

The device contains:

  • dispenser,
  • springs,
  • inlet, drain and connecting hoses,
  • electromagnetic three-section intake valve,
  • drum and its pulley,
  • inlet hose,
  • power block,
  • temperature sensors and liquid level relays,
  • electric tube heater,
  • electric motor,
  • electric pump,
  • interference suppression and drain filters,
  • counterweights.

Required Tools

To disassemble the washing machine you will need:

  • pliers,
  • slotted and Phillips screwdrivers,
  • small hammer,
  • several hexagons,
  • screwdriver,
  • service type hook,
  • WD-40 lubricant,
  • a camera to record disassembly actions.

Disassembly

Find out whether it is necessary to completely disassemble the device in the current situation, since this is a labor-intensive and time-consuming process. Sometimes it is enough to remove the back panel and the necessary components will be at hand.

Before disassembling, unplug the device. Read the washing machine instructions.

Horizontal type

To disassemble the washing machine:

  1. Top panel. Find 2 screws from the back and unscrew. Gently pull the cover and remove.
  2. Distributor recess. This is a container for bleach or powder. Pull out and press down on the area in the center of the tray with your finger. Remove it.
  3. Control block. Locate the screws in the top compartment of the front panel and remove them. Carefully unscrew the block and carefully remove it from the fastening mechanisms.
  4. Service panel. It is located at the bottom front of the washing machine. Unscrew the screws on the sides of the device and remove the panel using a flat-head screwdriver.
  5. Cuff. It is located in the center of the device. To remove it, pry the clamp with a screwdriver and release it from the grooves.
  6. Counterweights. These elements are similar to concrete blocks. They are secured with long bolts. Unscrew them and remove the parts.
  7. Heating element. Unscrew the nut in the middle. Press down on the pin that was used to tighten the nut. If it does not budge, tap it with a hammer. Pry up the heating element with a slotted screwdriver and smoothly pull it towards you.
  8. Motor. Remove the drive belt to transmit speed from the engine to the drum. Be sure to remove wires from the engine and tank. Remove the motor.
  9. Pump. Remove contacts from him. Unscrew the screws connecting it to the housing and pull out the power hose.
  10. Tank. Unscrew the shock absorbers and fasteners. In some cases they will have to be drilled out.
  11. Central panel. The part is secured to the machine body with four screws. Unscrew them and smoothly remove the panel.
  12. 3rd panel. Unscrew the fastening screws and the tightening bolt.

Treat stubborn elements with WD-40. Be careful when handling plastic parts.

Vertical type

To disassemble your upright washing machine, follow the instructions exactly. The process is more difficult than disassembling a horizontal washing machine:

  1. Side panels. Remove the screws from the back and one from the front.
  2. Motor. First, pull off the drive belt. Pull it towards you while moving the pulley. Remove the contact chip and grounding. Unscrew the screws and remove the electric motor.
  3. Pump. Reset the contacts, unscrew the screws, pull out the power hose and remove the pump.
  4. Control Panel. Unscrew the fixing screws from the side. Slide the unit towards you, disconnect the wires and remove the control panel.
  5. Powder tray. Remove the screws around the perimeter and pry them off with a flathead screwdriver.
  6. Linen drum. Use a slotted screwdriver to hook the clamp and smoothly remove the drum. Remove the shock absorbers from their mountings using a screwdriver. As with top-loading machines, sometimes the fasteners cannot be removed without using a drill.
  7. Counterweights. Unscrew the fasteners on which they are fixed. Be careful as this is a fragile part.
  8. Tank. Extra care will be required because it is a fragile plastic material. The movements must be precise, otherwise the element will break. Remove the tank by removing the four springs.

To avoid assembly errors, take photographs of every action. Improper assembly can cause serious damage and even short circuit.

Nuances in disassembling washing machines from different manufacturers

  • For the front-facing LG, first remove the display board, which is secured with latches. These machines are similar to Samsung products.
  • When disassembling the Electrolux, it is advisable to replace the disposable tank with a new one.
  • In Indesit models, the heating element is located at the bottom of the tank.
  • Siemens, Beko, Bosch and Atlant are the simplest washing machines to disassemble and assemble. The risks of damaging anything are minimal.
  • Saturn instruments require special care due to the thin plastic walls.

Small parts of washing machines are supplied with the main spare parts and are difficult to obtain separately. Having disassembled the washing machine and discovered the cause of the breakdown, you can repair the device without the help of a technician. If you have any doubts about the following steps, contact your technician.

To fix the vast majority of problems with your own hands, you should know how to disassemble an Indesit washing machine.

If repairs are required after 5-7 years of operation, this is quite normal. The only question is who to trust to repair the SM: a good technician, or try to fix everything yourself? In the article we will look at how to remove the top and back covers of the Indesit washing machine and explain the sequence of disassembling the case.

The Indesit washing machine is not much different from the similar Ariston brand. But there are still differences in the disassembly and repair process, while the tool you will need is almost the same. So, arm yourself with these devices:

  • Open-end wrenches 8-18 millimeters.
  • A set of sockets and a wrench.
  • With pliers and pliers.
  • Screwdrivers - slotted and Phillips. It may be more convenient to use one screwdriver (regular or electric) with a set of attachments.
  • A small set of socket wrenches.
  • Multimeter.
  • With a hammer.
  • Hacksaw (for metal).
  • Markers.
  • Shilom.

If you are not going to repair the electrical component of the machine, then a multimeter may not be needed. Take a regular tester - it may come in handy.

Now that you have all the necessary tools, all you need is a clear disassembly diagram.

Set up your workplace. If the machine is in a miniature bathroom of 1x1.5 m, then there will be no place to spread out all the tools and have nowhere to turn around. It's great if you have a garage or workshop. But if there is no trace of anything like that, then move the machine to the kitchen or at least to the hallway. You will need at least 2 m2 of free space.

In general, preparing the site for disassembling the Indesit machine is as follows:

Now that everything is ready, you can try to disassemble the Indesit washing machine with your own hands.

The first thing to do is remove the cover. It is secured with two bolts from the rear panel. Select a suitable screwdriver and unscrew the fasteners, then pull the cover towards you a little and lift it up - that’s it, the panel is dismantled.

The second stage is removing the cover from the back. The service hatch is secured with six bolts - unscrew them with a suitable screwdriver.

Having removed the interfering panels - back and top, you will see in front of you part of the “insides” of the washing machine. Using them, you can gain access to the tank.

Proceed as follows to remove the drive belt:

  • With one hand, grab the pulley.
  • Hold the belt with your other hand.
  • Spin the pulley.

If everything is correct, the belt will slip off easily.

Inspect the back wall, which is behind the pulley. If you notice oil stains or rusty streaks, then the bearings are no longer usable and you will need to disassemble the Indesit washing machine to replace them.

Proceed like this:

  • Find the heating element (its shank is visible under the tank). Remove all wiring from the heater contacts. Unscrew the nut located in the center of the shank between the contacts. Having loosened the element, remove it from the groove.

Important! Many people leave the heating element in the tank when disassembling the washing machine. But this requires caution - during disassembly the contacts can be damaged or broken, and then the heating element will have to be replaced.

Here is a good video on how to remove heating elements from an Indesit washing machine:

  • Remove the wiring and chips from the electric motor. Use a socket wrench and a 10mm socket to remove the 2 bolts that hold the engine in place. Remove the engine and set it aside.

  • Switch to the top: above the top wall you will see a large stone - the manufacturers called it a counterweight (it protects the machine from loosening). It is usually secured with 3 bolts. They can be removed with a socket wrench. After removing the counterweight, set it aside.

Important! The counterweight is very heavy - be careful not to drop it and injure yourself.

You are now separated from the tank by just a couple of parts - for example, the control panel. To remove it, follow our recommendations:

  • Unscrew the fasteners (they are located at the niche of the powder dispenser).
  • Remove another fastener, which is hidden in the left front corner of the SM body.
  • To release the block from the latches holding it in place, pull it up.

Important! Do not make sudden movements, otherwise you will break the wiring.

  • Disconnect the wires that connect the panel to the intake valve.
  • Set the part aside so that it does not interfere with you (hang it on the service hook if you have one).

In the video you will find additional information about disassembling the front panel and removing the control panel:

Further disassembly

Now you need to access the tank from the front. To do this, work with the cuff:

  • Find the clamp that holds the rubber seal.
  • Use a very thin screwdriver to pry it open.
  • Move the screwdriver around until you hit the mount.
  • Unscrew the fastening.
  • Remove the clamp.
  • Thread the rubber band inside the drum.

Let's disassemble the Indesit washing machine further:

  1. Walk around the machine.
  2. Unscrew the fastener near the water inlet hose.
  3. Now you can remove two parts at once: the inlet valve and the detergent receiver niche.

Be careful! Disconnect the powder receiver pipe before removing the niche. To do this you need to loosen the clamp.

Important! The mount is made of plastic, so remove the sensor carefully so as not to break it.

  1. Place the washer on its side.
  2. Since this brand usually does not have a bottom, you will immediately see the drain pipe and stands. With these parts the tank will not be removed.

How to remove the pipe and struts:

  • Loosen and remove the clamps holding the pipe.

  • Pull off the pipe.
  • Using a 10mm socket wrench, unscrew the fasteners that hold the racks in place.
  • Remove the stands.
  • Raise the machine and place it in its original position.

The longest stage of disassembly is completed, you can safely move on to the tank.

The trouble is that the manufacturer did not provide a collapsible tank, so it needs to be cut. To remove the tank, it is pulled off the springs and lifted up.

Important! When removing the tank, act carefully so as not to break the wires or damage the cuff.

If you still have questions about cutting the tank, watch the video, which clearly shows disassembling the machine, cutting the tank, and replacing bearings:

To remove the rear half of the tank, follow the instructions:

  • Unscrew the nut that holds the drum pulley.
  • Remove the pulley.
  • Screw a suitable bolt into the thread (not using a machine).
  • Place a block of wood against the bolt.
  • Hit the block with a hammer.
  • A strong impact should move half the tank.

Once the remaining half of the tank is knocked down, you'll be left with a drum with a shaft sticking out the back and seals and bearings installed on it. Now you can remove them in one of the following ways:

  1. Find a special car puller.
  2. Take the drum to an auto repair shop and ask mechanics to remove the bearings. They usually do it quickly and easily for a nominal fee.

By removing the bearings, you can easily install new ones and then reassemble everything again. Assembly will be the same as disassembly, except for the tank.

It is impossible to “saw” the tank back, but a good sealant will perfectly glue both halves together. But this is not enough - you will need to secure the tank with bolts.

If you understand how to disassemble an Indesit washing machine, you can put both the tank and the entire machine back together.

If you have some idea about the whole thing, then nothing prevents you from trying to fix the problem on your own, so as not to overpay extra money for repairs that may well turn out to be trivial. But, oddly enough, the problem often arises at the very initial stage - when disassembling an unfamiliar device made somewhere in China or Japan, by people who think a little differently. Although in reality everything can be very simple. Let's see how to disassemble an LG washing machine made in South Korea.

You should not undertake repairs if you know nothing about electrical engineering or if the warranty period for the device has not yet expired.

It is worth noting that LG has taken great care of the maintainability of its equipment, although at first glance it may seem that only licensed specialists from the service center can do this. In fact, disassembling LG's entire line of recent models requires little more than a couple of screwdrivers and pliers!

To get to the key components and parts of the LG washing machine, we need the bare minimum of equipment.

  • But for greater convenience and just in case, it’s a good idea to have the following tools on hand:
  • pliers or curved round nose pliers;
  • adjustable wrench;
  • set of open-end wrenches;
  • knob for end attachment;
  • nozzles on the knob from 8 to 18 mm;
  • small flat screwdriver;
  • crosshead screwdriver;
  • awl.

Disassembly procedure

The first thing you need to start with is lid, which is attached with two screws to the back wall of the machine. We unscrew these screws with a Phillips screwdriver, release it from the engagement, sliding it towards ourselves, then lift it up and remove it.

After this there is an opportunity remove the back wall machine for access to all internal parts of the rear, unless it has a specially designed service hatch for this (all modern models have one).

Further disassembly of the LG washing machine involves Removing the control panel. To do this, first we completely remove the powder container from the socket, and then unscrew the two screws that are hidden under it.

In addition to them, the control panel is held in place by plastic latches located at the top and bottom. You first need to unclip the top ones with a flat screwdriver, and then carefully pull the panel towards you and slightly up to free it from engagement with the lower latches.

There is no need to completely remove the control panel and disconnect the wires from it. Simply remove it to the side and secure it to the side wall with tape.

Our next step will be removing the rubber cuff hatch, which in LG models is attached to the body with a metal clamp with a spring. To remove it, you need to pry the spring with a screwdriver and pull it towards you until the clamp is removed from the cuff. After that, we simply push the rubber of the hatch deeper inside the drum and proceed to removing the remaining panels.

You should start with the small panel at the bottom where the garbage filter hatch is located. Under it there are screws, unscrewing which we can snap off the entire bottom panel using a small flat-head screwdriver.

After this we get access to the lower fastenings of the large front wall, which also needs to be removed to access the internal components.

Before removing the front panel, do not forget to disconnect the hatch locking device (UBL) wire from it.

Now you can disassemble the inside of the washing machine. We remove the counterweights around the hatch and the powder receiver compartment with pipes and filling valves, which are fastened with ordinary screws. Just remember to disconnect the connectors with wires from the valves before doing this.

The tank on top doesn't hold anything anymore, so we move on to the bottom. Using the tools we have, we disconnect:

  • pressure switch hose;
  • motor wires;
  • drain pipe;
  • heating element wires;
  • racks holding the tank.

After this, the tank with the drum and the engine remains hanging on the same springs. To remove the inverter motor, you need to remove six bolts under the cover, which is held in place by a large central bolt.

We unscrew it while holding the drum with the other hand.

  1. Now all that remains is to dismantle the tank and drum. Luckily for us, the tanks are in LV cars, so this won’t be too difficult:
  2. We unscrew the screws holding the two halves of the tank together.
  3. We move the forward forecastle to the side.
  4. We pull the rear forecastle off the bushing.

Remove the bearings and seals from the drum.

With this, the instructions on how to use LG can be considered completely completed!

Conclusion

As you can see, there is nothing difficult in disassembling modern models. There are only slight differences in the method of fastening certain parts. Home appliances should be produced “for people”, and not for the benefit of companies that pursue other goals. Such companies simply do not respect their consumers, and therefore their products do not deserve our attention.

Washing machines have long been part of our lives. It is impossible to imagine a modern apartment not equipped with this useful thing. But what to do if your favorite washing machine starts to leak or malfunction? One option is to try to fix the washing machine yourself. We'll talk about how to disassemble it to get to the broken part.
  • To disassemble the washer, you will need the following tools:
  • screwdriver;
  • pliers;
key to 19.

Disassembling washing machines should begin from the top of their casing. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screws securing the top cover and remove it. To remove, press slightly on the front of the cover and push it back. The cover should come off.

Remove the front part of the casing. To do this, carefully unscrew all the screws located on the sides and bottom of the front side of the case. Some of the screws can be hidden using special tape. After unscrewing all the screws, remove the clamp that holds the rubber cuff of the washing drum. Hold it with pliers and loosen it as much as possible using a screwdriver. Remove the inlet hose leading from the water distributor to the tank. To make this easy and simple, use pliers to loosen the retaining clamps. Pull firmly but gently on the hose to remove it. Similarly, remove all remaining hoses and water drainage corrugations. We remove the clamp holding the rubber cuff on the drum.

Now there is nothing stopping you from removing the counterweights. Externally, they look like small blocks of concrete and can be located either in the front or in the rear of the machine casing. Counterweights are used to reduce and completely eliminate vibrations that occur during the washing process and especially during the spinning process of washed clothes. To remove them, use the key.

Now you can start removing the heating element. Look for it at the bottom of the drum. Unscrew the fixing nut and gently tap the stud to recess the heating element. After that, remove it from the slot. Also unscrew all shock absorbers. Remove the drum from the casing.
