We create a camera tripod with our own hands. Homemade tripod: purpose, step-by-step instructions, tips and tricks Option for assembling a tripod from a tennis ball

Very often, when taking photographs or video, you have to resort to a device such as a tripod! This device is very convenient because it can be folded very easily and does not take up much space when stored. Currently, this device for photo and video equipment can be purchased without any problems at any large electronics store. You can also create a tripod with your own hands. This article will explain in detail and step by step how to create a tripod with your own hands!

Necessary tools and materials to create a tripod with your own hands:
- screws;
- boards made of durable wood, the thickness of which should be about 1 centimeter;
— steel rods;
- nails;
- black marker;
— black plastic cases for pens (3 pieces);
- hammer;
- drill;
- compass and ruler;
— aluminum plate;
- stain or varnish for wood;
- sandpaper;
- screwdriver;
— mounting bolt from bicycle brakes;
- hand saw;
- bolts, washers and nuts.
Steel rods can, for example, be used from an old printer. In this particular example, steel rods from an HP printer were used. The tubes will need to be removed and cut into pieces 12 centimeters long.
First stage.
First, you will need to draw a circle with a radius of 3 centimeters on the surface of the board. After this, you should draw another circle, but with a radius of 5 centimeters. In this case, you need to remember that the center of the two figures must coincide!
Second phase.
Then, you will need to divide the circles into three parts and draw radii. Then, in the interval between the large and small circle, you will need to step back one centimeter in both directions from the drawn radii, and draw another line.

Third stage.
At the next stage of work, you will need to attach another thinner board to the board with markings. On this board you will need to draw a small rectangle 2 centimeters wide. Then, you will need to retreat another 5 centimeters from this rectangle, and then draw an even line across the board.

Fourth stage.
At the next stage of work, you will need to cut out all the details of the future tripod, according to the markings. Then the cut parts will need to be sanded.
Fifth stage.
In the places where the tripod parts are attached, using a drill, you will need to drill threaded holes for screws. Remember that you will need to work very, very carefully! Then you will need to assemble all the prepared parts of the product together.

Sixth stage.
At the next stage of work, you should take the pen cases and cut them into two parts, namely large and small. These parts should be secured at different ends of the steel rod.

Seventh stage.
Then, the wooden part of the tripod should be painted with wood paint or covered with varnish or stain. Then this painted structure should be left until the coating is completely dry.

Eighth stage.
After this, the prepared steel rods will need to be attached to the underside of the wooden fasteners. Then you should make markings for the bolts, drill holes for them, after which you will need to assemble the entire structure.

Ninth stage.
At the next stage of work, you should take an aluminum plate measuring 3 * 6 centimeters and bend it in the shape of the letter “U”. You will need to drill one hole in the top of the plate, as well as on its sides. Another hole should be made in the top of the tripod. Then you will need to assemble the structure (as shown in the photo below) using fastenings from the bicycle brake system, bolts, nuts and washers.

At some moments of photography, it may be necessary to statically fix the camera in order to avoid unnecessary shocks and vibrations, as well as in studio, subject shooting conditions. You need a tripod, but not all amateurs have the opportunity to purchase one. And then there is only one thing left - to make a tripod with your own hands. The same problem confronted me when I wanted to carry out subject photography. My advantage was that I had the opportunity to use different materials, as well as a welding machine. The assembly technology was borrowed from Vintik-Shpuntik - from what was at hand, without the use of turning. As a result of simple actions, such an accessory was born.

One of the main features was the screw itself that secures the camera to the tripod. Here we had to use a mounting head from an existing mini-tripod with plastic legs. As a result of this design, another tripod was created, specifically designed for winter photography. The base remains metal, and wood is used as legs. The tripod turned out to be quite light and tall, which was a plus in deep snow conditions.

The main part of both tripods is a replaceable control head, which I rearrange within a few seconds depending on the upcoming shooting.

P.S. Later on the site Aliexpress I had my eye on an inexpensive, lightweight, compact tripod

with acceptable characteristics at a low price

Ordered it 25 February…Registration on the site is not difficult - … AMarch 25 I already received the tripod in the mail. Delivery was within 4 weeks.

Main advantages: lightweight (just over 400 grams), compact, functional (you can shoot with the camera in both landscape and portrait orientation)... there is a built-in level. The tripod comes with a fabric case….

Before making an accessory for your smartphone, you need to think about what raw materials to use, because the body of the finished tripod must be strong.

First of all, you need to understand what tasks the manufactured tripod will perform. If you have to use it constantly, then you need to think about which material to choose so that it lasts long. If you plan to use it less often, but want to save money, you can use raw materials that you always have at home. Let's get down to business.

If you are making a wooden stand for a camera or smartphone, it is better to cover it with stain - this way it will last a long time.

From skirting boards for plastic windows

When the glazing in a house is changed to a more modern one, some waste is sure to remain. We will use them in this case. First, let’s prepare all the equipment so that we don’t have to be distracted from work later.

Materials and tools

To work you will need:

  • plinth from plastic windows;
  • hacksaw;
  • drill;
  • metal tube.

Please note that aged plastic will not be suitable, as it may crack during use.

Step-by-step instruction

  1. We take the rest of the plastic and cut off a part of it half as large as your smartphone.
  2. Let's prepare the fasteners by drilling two holes and inserting a screw and a locking ball into them.
  3. Let's measure the diameter of each element for fixation. Then we will apply the prepared plastic and mark where these parts will be located.
  4. We make holes on a piece of plinth with the corresponding diameter of the feint and ball.
  5. Now we screw on the adapter and attach the base of the future tripod to it.
  6. We treat the edges of the plastic with electrical tape, tape or silicone glue so that they do not scratch the phone.
  7. Next, we screw on a long telescopic tube (or a regular one), place the smartphone in the connector, and then start shooting.

GOOD TO KNOW!

If you doubt the reliability of the holding device, you can secure the phone with an elastic band. Use thin and elastic, like for a slingshot.

Adjustable cardboard tripod

It may seem to some that any cardboard is not able to reliably hold the phone while taking pictures. However, if you follow the instructions, you can get a durable tripod for long-term shooting.

It is better not to use bare aluminum wire to construct stands. It is better to choose one that has a protective shell.

Materials and tools

To make a cardboard tripod you will need:

  • any cardboard box;
  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • ball pen;
  • gun glue.

Step-by-step instruction

We’ll immediately prepare your workbench so that you don’t waste time searching for equipment while working. Next, let's start making the tripod.

  1. We cut the cardboard box into several parts (you will need three parts measuring 10x6 cm).

  2. Now take one part and draw lines on it at a distance of 20 mm from each other. Make four stripes and cut off the excess

  3. Now we push through each drawn line with a ruler and bend the figure outward. Then we glue the resulting edges together with a gun.

  4. Now we do the same with the second cardboard, only we draw lines at a distance of 16 mm.

  5. We press and bend them again, and use a glue gun to form a shape.

  6. Next, insert the smaller part into the larger one.

  7. We measure the required distance at which the phone should be installed during shooting and pierce two holes in the cardboard. We insert a retainer into them (can be made from paper).

  8. Now on the edge of the upper fragment of our tripod we make cuts that will hold the smartphone. Their depth should be at least 1 cm.

  9. Next, we form a stand for the cardboard device. To do this, glue the remaining part of the box to the prepared tripod with a gun.

As a result of the above steps, you get a durable homemade tripod with a stand, which you can use on the table when taking selfies or shooting videos.

Tripod stand for smartphone made of plywood

Plywood is one of the wood materials. It is used for various purposes. Today we will use such a board for making. For these purposes you will definitely need a diagram or drawing.

Materials and tools

To create a wooden phone stand you need to have on hand:

  • a simple pencil;
  • plywood;
  • jigsaw

Step-by-step instruction

  1. Let's prepare the plywood and cut out two parts measuring 10.5x5 cm and 12x5 cm.
  2. Let's polish two fragments and check that there are no burrs on the edges.
  3. We make cutting at a distance of 2-2.5 cm from the side edge of the workpiece. The width of the cut piece on each part should be no more than 5 mm.
  4. Remember that the cuts are made approximately to the middle. Next, we connect the two parts together “groove-to-groove”.
  5. On a part that is shorter, we make a recess with a chisel, then sand it with sandpaper.
  6. Now we clean our workpiece, and then varnish it or decorate it in an interesting design.
  7. Afterwards we install our smartphone into the recess and enjoy the result.

You can make a lot of interesting products in the form of phone stands from plywood and thin boards. If you are creating an accessory for a child, you can use patterns of various animals or colorful geometric shapes as a basis.

Tablet stands made of wood

How to make an interesting tripod out of wood

Anyone who uses a camera on a smartphone understands that the quality of the image directly depends on how still the device is. The more convenient and securely the phone is mounted on a tripod, the better the image will be.

Materials and tools

  • wooden blocks;
  • smartphone holder;
  • fastening element from a table lamp;
  • glue gun;
  • thin PVC tube.

Step-by-step instruction

  1. First of all, we will prepare all the available bars for processing. To do this, we sand them on all sides to remove any unevenness.
  2. Next, take a large block and glue small ones to it along the edges.
  3. The wide plane will become the basis of our tripod.
  4. Now we glue the PVC pipe to the prepared block.
  5. We drill two symmetrical holes with a diameter corresponding to the fastener.
  6. We insert the fixing element, form a small rectangular block with the same hole, which is subsequently attached to the reacting mechanism.
  7. On top of the resulting block we glue another, slightly larger one. It will serve as a platform.
  8. Now we attach a plastic phone holder in a horizontal position to the resulting structure.

After these steps, you can use your homemade tripod as if it were a purchased one. This device can be used at home to shoot full-length video.

Wooden phone stands

How to make a phone tripod from scrap materials

Among the variety of tools and materials that can be used to create homemade tripods, there are also options that you always have around the house. At this stage, we will talk about such devices.

When there are a large number of holders for folders and papers in the house, they can be used to great advantage for the phone. It is from these devices that we will create a simple tripod.

  1. For a portable stand, we will prepare one large binder and another smaller one.
  2. We open the large fastener, place the handles of the small one in it and slam the structure shut.
  3. Raise the bottom holder up, then simply place your smartphone on the stand.
  4. Ideally, it is better to silicone the edges of the mini-tripod to avoid possible scratches on the phone body.

GOOD TO KNOW!

This device is convenient to carry with you in a bag, organizer or even in your pocket. This gadget will be especially useful for those who work in an office and always keep their cell phone handy.

Option from clothespins

For this purpose, it is advisable to use both plastic and wooden clothespins. However, it is worth noting that the latter will look better, especially if they are decorated in any way. Let's start making the stand.

  1. The product will require one ballpoint pen and 5 clothespins.
  2. We fasten all the clothespins from the middle to the edge with a cap.
  3. We turn the two extreme ones in the opposite direction.
  4. We lift the next two (located on opposite sides) up.
  5. We can assume that the tripod is ready. We install the phone on it and use it as a regular stand or means for taking pictures.

In this version of the accessory, you can adjust the tilt of the smartphone.

Tripod made from a piece of copper wire

The next homemade version of the stand is more suitable for cameras. Making this accessory is not difficult, the main thing is to properly prepare all the tools.

  1. We collect the necessary material: silicone tube, copper wire, brass adapters, two bolts, wire cutters, burner, water and dishwashing detergent, epoxy.
  2. We burn the copper wire, following safety rules, and cool it in water.
  3. We clean the wire with tow, then carefully place it in a silicone tube.
  4. The next step is to put a brass coupling on the tube; it will serve as a connecting element for the bolt and wire.
  5. Next, cut off the head of the bolt with a grinder or a metal saw, leaving a tail of 2-3 cm.
  6. Next, we screw the resulting part into the adapter and fix it with a glue gun, or better yet, with epoxy. A part measuring 0.5 mm should remain outside the adapter. This will be required for further mounting of the camera.
  7. We fasten the opposite side in the same way, only we do not leave the bolt outside.

During use, this device can be screwed onto tree branches and any other support in case there is no one nearby, and taking a picture is a matter of first necessity.

When making accessories for electronics, it is better to take materials with a reserve.

Dear users. Ask questions in the comments, tell us if you liked the ideas for creating a homemade tripod. If something is not clear, we will discuss it as a priority.

By making a camera tripod with your own hands, you can create a unique accessory for your camera.

With its help, the image of the resulting videos will be well stabilized and you will not have to spend a large amount, because the product can be created from scrap materials.

Content:

In the process of taking pictures or novice photographers often face the problem of a blurry frame.

Image stabilization does not depend on the shooting location, but on a good tripod that will securely hold the camera without allowing it to move.

The best option for creating high-quality photographs and videos is to use a tripod. Camera stands can be of several types:

  • Tripods are the most stable structures with three supports that are installed on the floor or table;
  • Monopods are standard stands with a magnetic or regular base;
  • Multipods;
  • Stand-belt. Most often used for video shooting;
  • Rope tripods and other suspended structures.

Making a stable tripod with your own hands

A tripod is the most expensive type of tripod. On specialized sites, the price of the structure can reach 5-7 thousand rubles.

But is such an expense justified if you can make the stand yourself?

To create your own tripod, you will need 2 rectangular tubes with rounded edges. Also, you should purchase 2 ski poles made of aluminum material.

To create a strong base, take a piece of chrome-plated steel pipe (about half a meter long). To connect all the elements, you need to purchase self-tapping screws, screws, nuts and washers.

From repair tools you need:

  • Standard drill with drill bit;
  • Hacksaw blade;
  • File;
  • Wrench;
  • Regular screwdriver;
  • Hammer, sandpaper;
  • Two small wooden boards (10x10 centimeters squares);
  • Pliers.

Take three rectangular tubes and cut three small pieces from it as shown in the picture below. Make notches and bend the “ears” to create brackets.

You should get three parts like this:

Fig. 3 – the resulting tripod elements (3 in total)

Take the ski racks and sand them well with a few sheets of sandpaper. Make sure all paint is removed. Now cut both elements in half.

In the future, half of the sanded stick will be the base of the tripod.

Fig. 4 – grinding parts

Take one of the wooden boards and make a round hole in it to install the camera and mount it.

The diameter of the hole must match the diameter of the previously ground tube:

Fig.5 - creating a hole

Now let's move on to creating the legs of the tripod. One of the brackets made in the first step will be used as a mount.

Place the bracket on top of the tube as shown in the picture below and drill a hole for a screw so that you can use it to adjust the position of the tripod.

Fig.6 – fastening one bracket

Install the chrome tube into the hole in the base. Then install three brackets into the base, each of which has a rectangular tube attached to screws.

You should get the following design:

Fig. 7 – finished base for the tripod

Now take a second board that is identical in size to the first. Make another bracket and attach it like this:

Fig. 8 - creating the upper part of the tripod mount

Take a self-tapping screw and drill it into the base so that part of the part appears on its back.

The camera will be screwed to it, so carefully select the dimensions of the screw:

Fig. 9 – completion of the base

The result should be the following tripod design:

Fig. 10 – finished product

As you can see, a homemade tripod is no different in appearance from a purchased one. Its main advantage is that the base can be rotated, which allows you to set the desired angle of the photo.

If you take larger boards, you can create a structure that can easily support heavier cameras.

By extending part of the tripod, you can install the camera in both horizontal and vertical positions:

DIY: Cheap tripod for home photography

This tripod option resembles a simple camera stand. It can be used to mount the camera on a table or other elevated, flat surface.

As practice shows, such tripods make autofocus more accurate, because the gadget does not move at all during shooting.

To create a tripod at home, you will need a few inexpensive parts:

  • Plastic soda bottle. We will use a standard 0.5 liter container. Please note that the larger the volume of the bottle, the better the stability of the structure. The ideal option is to use a five-liter container;
  • A bolt whose caliber fits the tripod socket on your camera;
  • Two washers standard size;
  • Screw.

Fig. 12 – preparation of materials

It is advisable to take a bottle with a wide neck, this way you can achieve better stability, because the lid is the base of the tripod. There will be a camera on it.

You should get the following diagram:

Fig. 13 - creating a base for a tripod

The resulting product should not wobble or unwind. You can use a tripod already in this state if the camera is light. It will hold up well.

If you need to lift the gadget above the surface, use the rest of the bottle.

With its help, you can make your future tripod heavier so that it does not tip over and holds the camera well.

A simple weighting option is water. Just put it in the bottle and screw on the cap. Attach a camera to the resulting product.

You can also pour a full bottle of sand - this will reduce the likelihood that if it falls, water will spill and damage the camera.

A homemade camera stand will look like this:

Fig. 14 – appearance of a homemade tripod

As you can see, the product turns out to be very practical and you won’t spend a penny on it. Tips for use:

  • Large cameras should not be used with this type of tripod. In all likelihood, it will not hold a weighty gadget;
  • Install the tripod only on flat surfaces, as it cannot be secured, which may cause the camera to fall;
  • Handle a bottle filled with water carefully so as not to spill liquid on the device.

Making a Magnetic Tripod

Using the idea of the previous instructions, you can create more than just a stable tripod.

By attaching a strong magnet to the base, you get a universal mount that can be installed on any surface.

Such products are often used in cars for shooting videos, because the magnet firmly holds the video camera, preventing the creation of blurry pictures.

It is better to buy a magnet as thick as possible. The larger its dimension, the better the camera will be fixed to the surface. If necessary, the fastening can be trimmed.

Rice. 15 – example of a magnetic tripod for a camera and its attachment to a surface

A well-made product can secure the camera even in a vertical position.

Stable razor stand

This option is perfect for beginner photographers who are not yet ready to spend large sums on purchasing professional camera accessories.

The stand raises the camera 10-15 centimeters above the surface. Suitable for placement on a table, floor or other flat surface.

Rice. 16 – example of a finished stand

To create a short tripod you will need:

  • Three shaving machines;
  • Small board;
  • Super glue;
  • One screw, the length of which is 5 cm and the diameter is 0.5 cm;
  • Screw;
  • Seal;
  • Varnish of any color;
  • Drill.

Cut out a small triangle on the board, which will be the base. Make a round hole in its center. Screw the screw into the resulting hole.

Attach three machines to the sides of the triangle and paint the structure with colored varnish.

Place a sealing ring on the screw and screw in the nut. Secure the camera.

Fig. 17 – example of using the stand

Rope tripod

This tripod option is perfect if you need to shoot outdoors, but there is no opportunity or desire to carry heavy structures with you for mounting.

A rope tripod is an accessory that you can make yourself in less than 5 minutes.

Its peculiarity is that you can put the stand in your pocket, and, if necessary, attach it anywhere: on a tree branch, table, bench and other places.

A reliable stand allows you to improve the quality of photos in the dark and twilight. Autofocus will begin to work many times better, and you will get excellent pictures even when viewing in detail under magnification.

After following the instructions you will receive this tripod:

Fig. 18 - a simple rope camera stand

You will need:

  • 2-3 meters of good rope;
  • A bolt with a hook, the thread of which has a pitch of ¼. This type is suitable for most cameras, because the bolt is attached to the camera base in a special connector;
  • The camera itself. For such a simple design, you should not take gadgets that are too heavy. A regular digital camera will do.

The necessary bolt can be purchased at any hardware store for less than 20 rubles. The rope will cost 150-200 rubles, depending on its diameter and strength.

When taking photographs, there is always a risk of getting a blurry photo. This is especially true when using cameras without image stabilization in the dark or in a room with poor lighting. At longer focal lengths, the appearance of wiggle is even more likely.

The best option is to use a tripod, but it's bulky and if you're just going for a walk, you don't want to carry the extra weight. Especially if you took a compact camera with you. But there is a simple solution that is convenient to use and it is so compact that it fits in the same pocket as the soap dish.

We are talking about a rope tripod. This device will improve the clarity of pictures when shooting in twilight and darkness.

To create a simple tripod, you will need several meters of rope and a bolt that has a thread with a 1/4 pitch. The bolt will screw into the tripod mounting location. Everything you need can be bought at a hardware store.

Features of Rope Tripod:

  • cheap materials for manufacturing
  • simplicity and speed of production
  • no special tools required for manufacturing
  • compact tripod that fits into almost any pocket
  • easy to use in any place, even where a regular tripod cannot be used, for example in museums
  • easy to make a new tripod in case of loss
  • It’s easy to rotate the camera and quickly take a new position
