How to choose the right pads for women. Classification of flange gaskets and their selection for various flange connections The best sanitary gaskets

When talking about the most important inventions of the 20th century, rarely does anyone remember sanitary pads. But it was they who made it possible to significantly improve the quality of life of all women and give them the opportunity to feel confident and comfortable on any day of the month. Cotton wool, bandages, cloth napkins, which did not give a feeling of cleanliness and made you constantly nervous about your appearance, are irrevocably a thing of the past.

A modern woman, thanks to high-quality sanitary pads, can feel comfortable in any clothes and move freely without fear that the pad will move out of place or leak. But such comfort and safety can only be guaranteed by high-quality and correctly selected gaskets.

What are the differences in the materials of feminine sanitary pads, and how does this affect their choice?

Today, the choice of gaskets is so wide that it is no wonder to get confused in their diversity. Therefore, even before purchasing, you need to study their main differences and roughly figure out what you need.
One of the most important points when choosing gaskets is the features of the top layer. All gaskets can be divided into two groups - with a soft top ball and with a mesh top ball. A mesh top ball is more gentle on the skin and is often natural in origin because it is made from cotton. Such pads are usually chosen by women with sensitive and allergy-prone skin.

The mesh surface also has its advantages - it absorbs all secretions very quickly, so the surface of the pad usually remains dry. But the mesh itself can be slippery and not very pleasant to the touch, so many girls simply don’t like it.

Residents of Ancient Greece, Egypt, Syria, Babylon, Rome and Japan used prototypes of modern tampons, which were inserted into the body cavity. They were made from papyrus, wool, linen and even thin paper.

It is very important to consider the quality of the gasket filler. Previously, the ability of a pad to absorb large volumes of secretions was determined by its thickness, but now, with the advent of modern fillers, such a criterion as thickness has no meaning. Thin pads are filled with compressed absorbent material and a gel base. Thanks to this, even a very thin pad perfectly absorbs secretions, turns them into gel and keeps them inside.

Often gaskets do not allow air to pass through, creating a greenhouse effect. This contributes to the appearance of diaper rash, chafing and microflora disruption. Therefore, it is important to choose gaskets made from “breathable” materials that allow air to pass through. This helps keep your skin dry and healthy.

Important characteristics of sanitary pads that must be taken into account when choosing (Video)

If you have already decided on gasket materials, then you should pay attention to some other important characteristics that will allow you to make the right choice.

When choosing a pad shape, it is better to give preference to the anatomical shape; it is more pleasant to the body and much more comfortable. This shape of the gasket allows you to move freely, does not rub or interfere.

You should definitely give preference to pads with wings, as they better secure the pad, protect the laundry and prevent leaks.

It is also necessary to pay attention to the location of the adhesive layer on the outside of the gasket. It should be evenly distributed over the entire surface of the gasket, this will allow it to be secured more securely, preventing any movement. In addition, it is worth paying attention to the quality of the glue itself. It is better to choose natural starch-based glue.

In ancient times, residents of northern countries used the skins of fur-bearing animals, dried moss and alder shavings to make sanitary pads; if there was a sea nearby, they used dried seaweed.

It is better to choose pads in individual packages, as they remain clean even after opening the package; they can be carried in a bag or pocket.

Today you can often find pads with balms, herbs, and flavors. Usually they do not provide any benefit and, in addition, can cause allergic reactions and irritation on the genitals. Such pads are simply a marketing step designed to increase their price and popularity.

Selection of panty liners

Many women use special panty liners to maintain daily hygiene. Such pads really help to maintain cleanliness and freshness throughout the day, because most of us do not have the opportunity to take a shower or change clothes in the middle of the working day.

It is very important to choose pads from the most natural materials possible. Since they have to be worn every day, they must allow air to pass through well and not lead to disturbances in the microflora of the genital organs. All pads must undergo hygienic certification.

Before the advent of the first pads, which were simply glued to the underwear, women had to wear special belts that supported the cloth pads.

But you should avoid sanitary pads with a scented inner layer, as fragrances often cause allergic reactions. In addition, the strong smell of a pad mixed with the characteristic odor of the human body is far from the best combination. Often pads are scented so strongly that their smell can even overwhelm the smell of perfume. It is better to refrain from such excesses.

How to properly store and use sanitary pads

Even if you have already chosen the ideal pads, you need to remember that only proper storage and use will avoid all the problems that may be associated with their use.

Before replacing the gasket, wash your hands thoroughly. If this rule is neglected, then microbes can be transferred to the surface of the gasket. This can lead not only to the formation of an unpleasant odor from the pad, but also to infection of the mucous surface.

Do not use gaskets that have expired. This means that you shouldn’t buy pads for future use, especially since their disappearance from store shelves is very unlikely.

When the first commercially produced pads appeared in pharmacies, women were embarrassed to buy them. Therefore, the pads were folded behind special screens, where the buyer could go and take them, leaving money in the box.

Gaskets should be stored in a dry place. Very often they are stored in bathrooms, but this is not correct, there they can absorb moisture, which will not only lead to a deterioration in absorbency, but can also cause bacteria to multiply on their surface.

Pads should be changed every 2-4 hours, regardless of whether they are full. This will avoid unpleasant odors and protect against the growth of bacteria. If the gasket does not fill, then it is better to give preference to a thinner variety.

Panty liners should not be worn constantly. They can be a great help during working hours, but at home and at night it’s better to do without them.

One of the most important inventions of the last century can be safely called sanitary pads, which made the lives of all women in the world much easier. However, with today's variety of brands, choosing the best option for “these very” days is not so easy. What gaskets can you safely give preference to, and who has become the leader, according to experts?

9th place. Naturella Camomile Ultra

Naturella Camomile Ultra pads are a budget option suitable for women of any age. As the results of tests and experiments show, they do not have a high absorption rate and are able to absorb less than 10 milliliters of liquid, so they are more suitable for protection against light discharge. The soft surface, reminiscent of delicate cotton, fits well to intimate areas and does not cause irritation.

Advantages:

  • low price;
  • pleasant fit to the body;
  • good moisture transfer indicators;
  • do not cause discomfort.

Flaws:

  • specific flavor;
  • slow absorption;
  • poor moisture absorption rates.

8th place. Fine Life Ultra Normal

Fine Life sanitary pads also fall into the ultra-thin category. This is a real salvation for women during critical days, which will be almost imperceptible. The SEP protective system protects against leaks, and the velvety Extra Soft non-woven material will gently adhere to the body. They have fairly good indicators of the wetness of the upper absorbent layer and absorption time, however, the actual indicators of complete moisture absorption do not correspond to the declared ones.

The surface is made of Extra Soft non-woven material, which has “breathable” properties. The absence of latex in the composition of the product guarantees a comfortable fit to the skin without the risk of irritation. Their only drawback is strong moisture transfer: despite the fact that Bella Perfecta instantly absorbs secretions, the inner layer does not retain them well under external influence (for example, when pressed).

Advantages:

  • low price;
  • fast absorption;
  • ultra-thinness of products;
  • protecting the skin from irritation;
  • do not cause discomfort;
  • neutralizes unpleasant odors.

They absorb even heavy discharge well, and thanks to their excellent moisture transfer, they guarantee a minimal risk of stains on clothes. The 3D texture of the pads provides protection against leaks, but not everyone likes the proprietary mesh top layer: with prolonged use, it begins to stick to the skin and cause discomfort.

Advantages:

  • absorb moisture quickly enough and retain it;
  • have good wetness properties;
  • ultra-thinness of products;
  • affordable price.

Flaws:

  • discomfort is likely when worn for a long time (mesh sticking).

Advantages:

  • guaranteed protection against leakage;
  • comfort of use.

Flaws:

  • not found.

Genial Day eco-pads are a little-known product in our country, but abroad they are perhaps the most popular brand of premium sanitary pads. Their main feature is the presence of so-called anion strips, which protect the female body from bacteria and unpleasant odors. It is impossible not to note the absorbent abilities of Genial Day: as studies show, they are ideal for heavy discharge, as they easily absorb and retain many times more than many other pads.

Advantages:

  • perfectly absorb liquid;
  • have a high level of moisture retention;
  • protect even hypersensitive skin from irritation;
  • provide good air permeability;
  • made from natural eco-friendly materials.

Flaws:

  • not found.

  • soft top layer;
  • mask unpleasant odor;
  • have an anatomical shape;
  • Suitable for long-term wear (more than 3 hours).

Flaws:

  • not found.

1st place. Libresse Invisible Normal

Thin and comfortable to use, Libresse pads always delight with their absorbent properties, and laboratory tests have confirmed this fact. The volume of absorbed liquid not only corresponds to what is stated, but even exceeds the norm, which allows you to use Libresse Invisible Normal both with an average intensity of discharge and with more heavy menstruation. One of the Efficapt layers is responsible for the distribution of liquid over the entire surface, which guarantees zero risks of leakage and good moisture transfer performance.

Advantages:

  • high absorbency;
  • guaranteed fluid retention;
  • perfect fit to the body;
  • freedom of movement when using;
  • natural composition.

Flaws:

  • not found.

All the brands reviewed are well known to most women, but each of them has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. When choosing gaskets, you should pay attention to models that not only perform their direct function, accumulate moisture and retain it well, but also prevent the development of a pathogenic environment. This will ensure that the use of hygiene products is not just comfortable, but also safe for the female body.

Choose only the best for yourself and be healthy!

There is probably no woman who has not thought at least once thatThere are so many inconveniences from menstruation that it would be better if they ended as soon as possible. However, these same women are most often not at all happy about the onset of menopause. But hwhat is menstruation? And this is how you look at it: on the one hand, evidence of the ability to bear children, on the other, a guarantee that a heart attack, thanks to hormonal levels, is not yet a threat, on the third, constant expenses for pads and tampons, on the fourth, emotional outbursts...

In a word, there are many sides and they are all different. But one way or another, any woman goes through this period (and this is a total of about three thousand days, that is, about nine years, or even more), and these are far from the worst years of a woman’s life. Of course, menstruation days always require special care and special attention to personal hygiene.

Fortunately, a wonderful invention appeared in the twentieth century - special pads that absorb menstrual fluid and reliably protect clothes, allowing a woman to feel quite relaxed and free. But although this invention is no longer new, pads and their use still sometimes raise some questions, and gynecologists claim that improper use of pads often causes diseases of the female genital area.

What are gaskets for?

Today, any woman considers sanitary pads to be almost an essential item, because they are needed for several days every month, and so on for many years in a row. What function do feminine pads perform?

Women's pads protect clothing from menstrual blood, or more precisely, from menstrual fluid that is released from the vagina. It is known that menstrual discharge does not consist entirely of blood, therefore it is more correct and more accurate to call it menstrual fluid, which, in addition to blood itself, includes cervical secretion, which has a mucous structure, vaginal secretion and a certain amount of endometrium, which certainly exfoliates with vaginal walls during menstruation.

How much blood does the female body lose during menstruation and, accordingly, how much blood should pads absorb?

The amount of menstrual fluid that is released during one menstrual cycle is individual for each woman and depends on the duration of menstruation, the intensity of menstrual bleeding and some other individual characteristics of the body.

However, the average amount is considered to be approximately 35 milliliters. That is, this is not a stream or a flood, but just a tiny glass of liqueur - but this is the average; Accordingly, the amount of menstrual flow may be less or more. The lower limit of the norm, that is, the minimum amount of menstrual fluid, is considered to be 10 milliliters, and the upper limit of the norm is 80 milliliters, although sometimes the volume of menstrual flow can reach 150 ml.

Often the amount of menstrual flow largely depends on the duration of menstruation, which can last from three to seven days. It is quite obvious that there will be more discharge in a week than in three days, but it is very important how intense the periods are throughout the entire menstruation.

You should also pay attention to the fact that the color of menstrual fluid differs from the color of blood - this fluid is slightly darker than dark venous blood, and is not just dark red, but has a brownish tint.

Menstruation begins in adolescence (on average at eleven to twelve years old, but possibly later) and continues until menopause (on average about 52 years, although normal values can vary greatly here too). This means that every woman needs sanitary pads for about forty years of her life.

Quite often you can hear the question whether it is possible to replace sanitary pads with tampons. The answer from gynecologists is absolutely clear - even the best tampons should not be used constantly, especially at night. That is, even if a woman mainly uses tampons during the day, she should still give preference to sanitary pads at night.

Different gaskets are needed...

If menstrual bleeding is different, then it is quite natural that sanitary pads should also be different, since they should absorb completely different amounts of liquid. What types of sanitary pads are there?

The thinnest sanitary pads are panty liners , which are used between menstruation. Such pads can absorb up to 50 ml of liquid. Gynecologists do not advise using pads unless necessary, since normally a healthy female body should not produce such an amount of discharge between menstruation that would require the use of a pad.

But panty liners can be very helpful when you experience any vaginal discharge during the intermenstrual period. However, in case of any discharge, you must immediately contact a gynecologist who can make a diagnosis and prescribe the necessary treatment. Of course, intermenstrual discharge can sometimes be a variant of the norm, but it can also indicate the presence of serious diseases of the female genital area, including sexually transmitted diseases.

The next type of gaskets is actually sanitary pads for women, which are intended for use specifically during menstrual bleeding. Such pads can absorb up to one hundred milliliters of liquid and also vary depending on size and absorbency.

The so-called night pads, which are intended for use at night during sleep, when it is not possible to change them often enough, have maximum absorbency. Night pads are also of the largest size in order to certainly protect against possible leakage of menstrual fluid.

Daytime sanitary pads are also different, since they are designed for discharge of different intensities, and are marked differently (often by the number of droplets). Daytime sanitary pads require more frequent replacement than nighttime ones: if nighttime ones are intended for use throughout the night, then daytime ones should be changed every few hours (from two to four).

Attention! Within two hours after replacing a feminine sanitary pad, a lot of bacteria appear on its surface - an average of 107 bacteria per square centimeter, and not all bacteria can be considered harmless. Therefore, timely replacement of sanitary pads is very important for maintaining health.

In addition to daily and sanitary pads, there are also so-called urological pads , which are intended for use in conditions of uncontrolled urination. Such pads have maximum absorbency and are capable of absorbing up to two hundred milliliters of liquid (almost a small glass). Of course, with particularly heavy menstrual flow, you can use urological pads for greater reliability.

Is the gasket something special?

Sometimes the question arises how well women's sanitary pads correspond to their price, because at times the thought may arise that the pad can be replaced with cotton wool, gauze or other improvised material, for example, old things made from natural fabrics.

Well, the question is quite logical, especially since for many years and decades (if not centuries) women did exactly this, until modern technologies invaded this area, since intimate hygiene is very important for maintaining the health of the genital area and the whole body generally.

Undoubtedly, if necessary, you can use improvised means, but a modern sanitary pad is a rather complex design. You can find at least three layers in the gasket, when the absorbent middle layer is located between the top and bottom layers.

Concerning top layer , then it should be cotton and have a mesh structure. Interestingly, the mesh must be special - each cell must have the shape of a tiny funnel, which will allow it to retain the absorbed liquid. If you make the mesh cells in the form of tubes, then the liquid will not be retained, but will flow back out. It is this mesh layer that ensures rapid absorption and protects the skin from contact with liquid.

In modern gaskets it is very important layer that is located in the middle of the gasket and is designed to retain liquid . This layer necessarily includes an absorbent, which retains bloody discharge, turning it into a gel-like substance.

Thus, the liquid in the middle layer of the pad turns into a gel and can no longer flow out. It is very important that the surface of the pad remains dry and does not cause any inconvenience to the woman. It is also very important that the middle layer of the gasket can allow air to pass through.

bottom layer A modern sanitary pad must also allow air to pass through and allow water molecules to evaporate, so that the level of moisture between the pad and the body is lower - to ensure dryness and a feeling of freshness.

It is very important that modern feminine sanitary pads have an anatomical shape. Of course, this feature often does not become decisive, since pads that do not have such contours are also quite functional, but the anatomical shape of the pads is convenient.

Sanitary pads have been supplied for quite some time now. "wings", with the help of which you can securely attach the pad to your underwear and not have to worry about it getting tangled. Modern women can no longer imagine how they can do without this convenient invention, although a few decades ago no one even suspected such possibilities.

Concerning method of fastening the gasket to underwear, then for now there are two options: some pads are not attached to the underwear along the entire length, and some have the entire pad securely fixed, since almost the entire bottom layer is covered with an adhesive composition. Of course, the second option is more convenient and reliable, since a gasket that is not completely fixed often gets knocked to the side.

As an added benefit, some gaskets have safety rails, which should prevent accidental leaks. However, these same bumpers can sometimes damage delicate skin, causing chafing, although this only happens when the gasket was not changed in time and the safety bumpers are excessively swollen.

Among other things, it should be noted that feminine sanitary pads may have different lengths. It is clear that a long pad has greater absorbency, so the heavier your menstrual bleeding, the longer the pad you should choose.

Since today pads come in different lengths and with different absorbency, you can use different pads during menstruation, depending on the amount of bleeding.

One of the very important features of modern gaskets is individual packing, when each pad is packaged separately and only then placed in a pack. Such individual packaging ensures the necessary sterility of the pad, as well as the ability to carry not the entire pack, but one or more spare pads (depending on need).

In addition to regular pads, you can find so-called phyto-pads, which have a special anti-allergenic and antibacterial impregnation made from medicinal herbs. However, such gaskets have not yet become very common.

As for feminine sanitary pads with fragrances or perfumed fragrances (and there are such), gynecologists do not recommend their use, based on two reasons.

First of all, many specific diseases of the female genital area can be revealed by the smell of discharge, which a perfumed fragrance will make completely inaudible, so the disease can be detected later. In addition, there is always the possibility of an allergic reaction to any perfumed or aromatic additives in intimate hygiene products. And this is even more dangerous during menstruation, when the female body is weakened and more easily susceptible to any infection and any unwanted effects.

Attention! It is better to buy any feminine sanitary pads in a pharmacy chain or in large supermarkets that have all the necessary documentation for this product, including a sanitary certificate.

It is very important to remember that when choosing a brand of feminine sanitary pads, it is better to give preference to well-known manufacturers with an impeccable reputation in the market, because women’s health often depends on the quality of sanitary pads: according to the World Health Organization, more than 63% of diseases of the female genital area are caused by poor-quality sanitary pads gaskets

When is the choice made?

But now the choice has been made. It would seem that using gaskets is not a big deal. But even here there are certain rules that should not be forgotten.

  1. The main rule is that before changing the pad, you must wash your hands thoroughly, because unwashed hands can become a source of serious infection (a sterile pad removed from its individual packaging can easily absorb any microorganisms, and then itself can become a source of infection).
  2. The next rule is to never store feminine sanitary pads in the bathroom, where there is always high humidity and quite warm. It is in the bathroom that bacteria multiply especially easily and quickly, so you should not leave sanitary pads there for any long time.
  3. As for the expiration dates that almost any product has, we should not forget that feminine sanitary pads are medical products, that is, sanitary standards and requirements exist not only for their production, but also for their storage. The expiration date of feminine sanitary pads is indicated on the packaging, and this period should not be neglected under any circumstances.
  4. When using sanitary pads, it is very important to change them on time, not only because of the possibility of unwanted leakage, but also because menstrual fluid is an excellent environment for the growth of bacteria. The time when the pad should be replaced is indicated on the packaging, but it is unlikely to exceed four hours (the only exception may be night sanitary pads). If it seems that the gasket has not been filled within the period specified by the manufacturer, then it makes sense to use a thinner gasket with a lower degree of absorption, but it is strictly forbidden to leave any gasket for a long time.
  5. Gynecologists strongly recommend not to buy sanitary pads with any chemical fragrances, since even a small amount of the chemical can cause an allergic reaction or infection.
  6. In addition, it is very important not to forget that a quality product always has a certain price. If the gaskets have a very low price, then you should think about their quality. As a rule, all well-known and well-established manufacturers of women's sanitary pads have their own websites, where you can always get acquainted with the manufacturer's pricing policy and marketing promotions, within the framework of which it is possible to reduce prices during a certain period. If a retail or pharmacy chain announces a price reduction, then this promotion must be announced indicating the exact date and conditions for its implementation.

conclusions

It would seem that there is nothing complicated in choosing a feminine sanitary pad. However, pay attention to how many well-known manufacturers produce these products.

Why? The fact is that each woman is very individual and unique, and even products with very similar characteristics may not suit everyone in the same way.

By choosing a high-quality sanitary pad, a woman chooses health, well-being, good mood, activity and a fulfilling life without any special restrictions. But during menstruation, attention should be paid not only to high-quality hygiene items, but also to a proper daily routine, high-quality and healthy nutrition, enough time in the fresh air, positive emotions - when it comes to women’s health, there can be no trifles.

If anyone is interested in how sanitary pads are made, watch the video below:

Feminine pads are one of the most popular and basic items that a woman uses for her own hygiene during menstruation. Several decades ago, women were in difficulty, because there was not yet a special choice of pads. Now a woman can choose exactly those sanitary pads that will suit her perfectly and will not create inconvenience.

Nowadays, there is a very large selection of this product on the market; there are many brands and types of gaskets. The most popular of them are Bella, Always, Meshisan, SUN HERBAL, FOHOW and others.

At first glance, it may seem that choosing the right gaskets will be very difficult, because among all this variety you can get confused. Read our article about how to choose the right gaskets.

History of gaskets

Women's sanitary pads appeared a very, very long time ago; one might even say that they appeared when a woman began menstruating. Since ancient times, women have used various kinds of objects as pads - fabric folded in several layers as a pad, and also used the skin of various animals, grass, cotton and other items.

A significant leap in the creation of sanitary pads was the appearance and production of disposable sanitary pads, and this happened thanks to a man - Benjamin Franklin. The first disposable sanitary pads went on sale in 1898, produced by Johnson & Johnson. But it wasn't until 1920 that improved packaged gaskets went on sale. The first pads were very expensive and not all women could purchase such a necessary hygiene item.

Over time, the problem with the gasket leaking and holding it in place was resolved. For this purpose, they were lengthened, which made it possible to secure them at the waist with a special belt. Next, we started using tape with adhesive properties at the bottom of the pad so that it could be attached to the gusset of the underwear and secured. This method of securing the pad replaced the belt clip in the mid-1980s and has become very popular.

Intimate hygiene products for women during menstruation

During menstruation, women can use other items in addition to pads. Let's look at the most popular and widespread of them:

Sanitary napkin- This is a hygiene item, which in most cases has a rectangular shape; in order to absorb menstrual blood, they need to be attached to underwear. This hygiene item is very popular and is often used by women during menstruation.

Tampons is a hygienic disposable product that has a cylindrical shape. Most often it contains cotton wool, which is treated with a special material. Tampons should be inserted directly into the vagina.

Menstrual cups- these are cap-shaped cups, they are made of silicone rubber or soft plastic, they need to be placed in the vagina so that they can collect menstrual blood.

sea sponge is a feminine hygiene item that is used as a tampon.

Fabric pad- This is a fabric that is placed directly into underwear to retain blood.

Intralabial pad– This is a treated cotton pad for single use, small in size. You need to put it between the labia minora to block the vaginal opening, this will make it possible to absorb all the discharge during menstruation.

Types of feminine sanitary pads

Nowadays, there is a very large selection of feminine sanitary pads that a woman can use during menstruation. There are reusable and disposable pads. Let's look at some of them:

Regular pads– these pads are designed to absorb moderate intensity discharge.

Panty liners– for minor bleeding, they are ideal, as well as for weak discharge, or they can be additionally used when using tampons.

Ultrathin gaskets- These are very thin and compact pads, but they have low absorption capacity.

Maxi/Super– these pads are designed to absorb more intense discharge.

Night pads- These are pads that are longer and provide better protection in the prone position.

How to choose sanitary pads

All gaskets have almost the same structure, despite the fact that there are a lot of them. The outer layer of the pads is made of artificial material in the form of a mesh or treated cotton. Artificial material has its positive properties, because it is always dry and does not deform the pad, but a woman does not always feel comfortable using such a pad.

The inner layer contains a special filler (airlight granulate) or cellulose. Pads with cellulose absorb secretions very well and do not irritate the skin, but they are also large in size, their thickness is about 1 cm. If the gaskets contain filler, their thickness is no more than 3 mm. The filler, absorbing secretions, turns into a gel, but such pads can irritate the skin.

The bottom layer is made of polyethylene or a hydrophobic non-woven (breathable) material that can be air-permeable and liquid-resistant.

All pads have their own absorption coefficient, which is indicated by droplets drawn on the packaging. The more dark droplets, the more they absorb liquid. Pads with wings can protect your laundry from getting dirty.

There is no need to use one pad all day, because with heavy discharge, an unpleasant odor may appear and, moreover, this is an ideal place for the growth of microbes.

Some manufacturers scent pads with natural or artificial substances to eliminate unpleasant odors, but these can cause an allergic reaction or irritation. Therefore, it is best to simply not neglect hygiene.

In stores you can find pads of various colors, but their disadvantages are the same as scented ones; it is better to buy regular pads without scent and colors.

Gynecologists say that there is no need to use pads every day because they can cause disturbances in the vaginal microflora, they all create a greenhouse effect. It is best to use pads when ovulation occurs, before menstruation and in the first few days after menstruation, during menopause and after childbirth.

Remember, more “breathable” pads are those in which the adhesive layer is applied in strips, and not over the entire surface.

Internet publication "My Choice"

There is no point in fitting yourself into one size or stereotype. The only important thing is to find what suits us. Choosing the right size is very important so that we not only look better, but also feel better. For example, if we wear a bra that is too tight, we will definitely immediately have difficulty breathing.

Have you ever thought that choosing the right size is also very important for sanitary pads? To feel as comfortable and free as possible, to be under reliable protection and not to be afraid of leaks, it is necessary that the gasket is the right size for you.

Until recently, when choosing a pad, we focused exclusively on the amount of discharge, but our size and body contours are also very important. That is why ALWAYS has released a new line of pads in 4 different sizes, so that every woman can choose the ideal size for herself.

How to choose a pad size

To find out your size, find the intersection point in the figure above between your clothing size and the amount of discharge. For example, if you wear size S panties and have moderate flow, size 1 pads will fit you. And if you are a size M and have heavy discharge, try size 3 pads. But for additional protection at night, we advise all women to use size 4 pads.

Remember, the more accurately you size your pad, the better it will protect you.
