Caesar roll at home. Spring protection of garden plants from pests and diseases

The Caesar Roll appetizer is not related to Japanese cuisine and does not contain rice. It is a thin flatbread with a juicy filling. The composition of the treat resembles shawarma, but it turns out to be healthier and lighter.

The popularity of the snack in question began with the fast food restaurant McDonald's. It is still served in the establishment, periodically offering guests new toppings and sauces. The classic Caesar roll recipe necessarily includes some kind of meat or fish component, as well as a large number of different vegetables. A special sauce complements the entire food mix.

Correct composition of products

It is impossible to answer which composition of products for such a treat is correct. It all depends on the taste preferences of the housewife and everyone at home. Thus, the classic recipe for the dish includes chicken meat, and its variations are offered with seafood and fish.

You can also choose different vegetables to suit your taste. Fresh tomatoes, any lettuce leaves, fresh cucumbers and sweet peppers are best suited for treats.

An important ingredient of the dish is cheese. You need to choose hard or semi-hard salted varieties of such a product. You can experiment with soft cream cheese.

You can choose any thin flatbread as the basis for Caesar Roll. At home, it is most convenient to use Armenian lavash.

The calorie content of Caesar Roll depends on the ingredients of the treat. For the classic recipe it is 499 kcal per 100 g of product.

Traditional sauce for Caesar roll

The main secret of the appetizer is the sauce. Of course, you can use regular mayonnaise, for example, with garlic and spices, but the taste of the treat will noticeably suffer. It’s better to spend a little time and prepare the same classic sauce for Caesar Roll.

  • 3 dessert spoons of freshly squeezed lime/lemon juice;
  • 3 – 4 garlic cloves;
  • 3 raw egg yolks;

  • salt and pepper mixture as desired.

Preparation:

A homemade snack will be as tasty as the one at McDonald's if you wrap the roll correctly and understand the basic principles of its preparation.

What are Caesar rolls?

Hearty Caesar rolls are a quick meal made from affordable, healthy foods that can be found in any refrigerator. Lavash envelopes are convenient to eat with your hands on the go, like a burrito, hamburger or Turkish shawarma, doner kebab. The main highlight of this snack is the opportunity to safely experiment with fillings and sizes, use your favorite marinade for meat, change and add ingredients, herbs, and spices to taste.

Composition of the dish

The list of ingredients required to prepare Caesar rolls may vary depending on the recipe. The standard set of products is pieces of chicken fillet fried in breadcrumbs, fresh tomatoes, cheese, lettuce. Separately prepare a sauce from olive oil, mustard, and egg yolks. Tortillas, unleavened flatbreads, and pita breads are used as a base. They should not be too dry, otherwise the filling will not be able to wrap.

Calorie content

The proportions and components of the filling, for example, the presence of breading, the composition of the dressing or the type of cheese, will depend on how many calories are in the Caesar roll. The energy value of rolls, which you can buy at a fast food restaurant, is about 500 kcal per serving. The classic version of the snack consists mainly of carbohydrates (46 grams), so it satisfies hunger well. Proteins and fats – 2 times less, in approximately the same quantities.

How to make Caesar roll at home

Before you make Caesar roll at home, you need to boil chicken fillet slices until tender or fry until golden brown. Before serving, the appetizer can be placed on a baking sheet with parchment paper, baked at 180 degrees, or use the convection mode.

Features of preparing the sauce

The Caesar roll filling will turn out juicy if you pay attention to the dressing and make a delicious classic sauce. It includes 3 raw yolks, 3 cloves of garlic, juice of one lemon, 5 tablespoons of olive oil and a little Dijon mustard. Salt and pepper are added to taste. All ingredients must be mixed using a blender or beaten by hand; they must be at the same temperature. The calorie content of this sauce is more than 330 kcal per 100 g of product.

Cooking recipe

How to properly wrap a Caesar roll in pita bread

The secret to the popularity of the Caesar roll lies not only in its unforgettable taste, but also in its presentation. The ingredients are placed on a thin wheat tortilla, trying to distribute them closer to the center. The lower part is lifted, covering the filling and forming a “pocket”. Then the side edges are folded in one by one, and the top is left open. Another serving option is to make a roll, closed on all sides, and then cut it diagonally.
