Pre def flashes on the air conditioner. Error codes, malfunctions and repair of air conditioners Carrier

Deciphering the error codes of air conditioners General climate makes it possible, without calling the master from the service, to troubleshoot.

Air Conditioner Error Codes , displayed on the remote control:

  • E2 - no contact with the temperature sensor;
  • E3 - no contact with the temperature sensor of the evaporator;
  • E4 - there is no contact with the temperature sensor of the condenser;
  • E5 - increased temperature of the drainage pump motor;
  • E6 - the protection mode of the outdoor unit (open circuit, overheating protection) is on;
  • E7 - no contact with EEPROM;
  • E8 - the drain pan is filled to the top.

Error codes on displays

Some errors can be fixed by yourself. To eliminate others, you will have to contact a specialist:

  • operation + timer + def / fan - too much voltage is applied to the compressor more than once every 15 minutes. Disconnect the air conditioner from the power outlet;
  • water alarm LED (blinks) - there is too much water in the condensate tank for more than 3 minutes. You must manually start the drain pump;
  • water alarm LED (steady light) - the tank is full for more than 3 minutes. The device is in emergency mode. In order to eliminate this error code, disconnect it from electricity;
  • def / fan (pre / def) - there is no contact with the temperature sensor on the condenser. The device will start working as soon as the temperature sensor turns on;
  • All lights blink - violation of the function of the outdoor unit (overheating or hypothermia, power failure);
  • Timer - short circuit or no contact with the internal temperature sensor;
  • Operation - there is no contact with the temperature sensor on the evaporator or a short circuit in it;
  • operation + timer - violation of contact with the EEPROM. This error cannot be fixed on its own, since it is necessary to install a new control board.

Error codes for split systems like S-HR

Even with one equipment manufacturer, the designations always differ, so you should carefully study the instructions and know the exact model of your air conditioner and its units (internal and external). Only after these steps, you can pick up the exact decryption of such codes on the air conditioner as pre / def. The table below is just for this case.

Be careful, these codes are valid for the following models: S12HR, S09HR, S18HR, S07HR.

Why does the air conditioner blink (blink)?

The blinking of the air conditioner indicates errors in its operation. It warns the user about the presence of malfunctions, ignoring which can lead to extremely undesirable consequences - failure of the engine, compressor or circuit board. Blinking indicators are equipped with those models of home air conditioners that are equipped with a self-diagnosis system. It prevents the device from turning on and causes the timer to flash.

A blinking air conditioner may indicate the following malfunctions:

  • Data transfer between the indoor and outdoor unit is broken;
  • Over or under voltage in the network;
  • Refrigerant pressure exceeded;
  • Out of range compressor temperature;
  • The temperature sensor of the evaporator is broken;
  • There is no condensate outflow, etc.

It is impossible to independently determine the cause of the blinking of the air conditioner and even more so to eliminate the malfunction. This is only possible for experienced professionals who are the masters of our company. Right on the spot, they will conduct a complete diagnosis of the air conditioner and perform all necessary repairs. Very soon, your device will stop blinking and will work stably, performing the functions assigned to it - air conditioning in the room.

Troubleshooting if the air conditioner blinks

If the air conditioner blinks, repairs in Moscow are carried out at the customer’s home. It is preceded by a diagnosis, which allows you to establish the cause of its blink and determine ways to eliminate it. The cost of diagnostics carried out by specialists of our company is 1,500 rubles. It is a mandatory procedure. Without it, we do not start any repairs.

Further actions of our specialists will depend on what the testing of the air conditioner has shown. You may need:

  • Extended cleaning, the cost of which is 2500 rubles;
  • Comprehensive maintenance, the price of which, taking into account the diagnosis, is 3,500 rubles;
  • Additional cleaning of the indoor unit;
  • Replacement of worn parts and assemblies.

We carry out all types of cleaning of the indoor and outdoor units, as well as comprehensive maintenance of the air conditioner, on the day of treatment. As for the repair, which implies the replacement of worn parts and assemblies, we discuss the feasibility of its implementation together with the customer after the final amount for the work has been announced to him.

The indoor unit of the air conditioner can diagnose problems and fix them at the same time (if possible). The list of faults and their codes are contained in the table (see below).
In the process of diagnosing a malfunction, the green indicator (P) and the orange indicator (R) blink with a frequency of 0.1 sec, indicating a fault code. The orange indicator (R) corresponds to tens in number - a malfunction code. The green indicator (P) corresponds to units in number - a malfunction code.
2 seconds elapse between the flashing orange and green indicators. The sequence is repeated at intervals of 4 seconds.

Example: DTC 13:

  • The orange indicator flashes once
  • Both indicators are off for 2 seconds
  • The green indicator flashes three times at intervals of 0.5 seconds.
  • Both indicators are off for 4 seconds

The sequence is repeated until the fault is resolved. If the DTC is less than 10, then the orange indicator does not blink.

SYMPTOMS NOT A CONDITIONER'S DEFECTS
Symptom 1: the air conditioner is not working
■ The air conditioner does not start immediately after pressing the power ON / OFF button on the remote control. If the operation indicator is on, the system is in normal condition. To prevent overloading the compressor motor, the air conditioner starts 3 minutes after the button is pressed.

■ If the “PRE-DEF * operation and defrost indicators are lit, it means that the heating mode is selected. When the air conditioner is turned on, the compressor does not start immediately (if the protection function against cold air supply is activated) due to the too low temperature of the air leaving the indoor unit.

Symptom 2: Switching to Fan Only mode during cooling operation
■ To prevent freezing of the evaporator of the indoor unit, the system automatically switches to the "Fan Only" mode, and after a while returns to the cooling mode.

■ When the room temperature drops to the set value, the compressor stops and the indoor unit automatically switches to “Fan only” mode, and when the temperature rises, the compressor starts again. The same principle of operation is incorporated into the control system when operating in heating mode.

Symptom 3: white fog leaves the block
Symptom 3.1: indoor unit
■ With high relative humidity and severe contamination of the internal surface of the unit operating in cooling mode, the temperature distribution in the room becomes uneven. Complete cleaning of the indoor unit is necessary. For detailed cleaning information, contact your local dealer. This work must be carried out by a qualified professional.

Symptom 3.2: indoor and outdoor units
■ When, after the defrosting operation is completed, the system switches to heating mode, the moisture generated during the defrosting process turns into steam and is removed from the system.

Symptom 4: noise emitted by the air conditioner in cooling mode
Symptom 4.1: indoor unit
■ When the system is in cooling mode or in a stop state, a continuous soft hissing sound is heard.
Sound is heard when the drain pump is operating (accessory, optional).

■ When the system in heating mode is stopped, a quiet crackle is heard.
The reason for the appearance of sounds is the deformation of plastic parts when their temperature changes.

Symptom 4.2: indoor and outdoor units
■ During the operation of the system, a continuous soft hissing sound is heard. Sound is caused by the passage of refrigerant vapor through the indoor and outdoor units.

■ When starting, immediately after the stop operation is completed or during the defrost operation, a soft hissing sound is heard. Sound occurs when the refrigerant circulates through the refrigeration circuit.

Symptom 4.3: outdoor unit
■ The pitch of a working air conditioner changes. A change in pitch is caused by a change in rotational speed
a fan.

Symptom 5: dust is blown out of the block
■ When using the air conditioner for the first time after prolonged inactivity.
The dust accumulated in it during the period of inactivity is blown out of the block.

Symptom 6: the unit emits odors
■ The unit can absorb the odors of the room, furniture, tobacco smoke, etc., and then release them into the air stream.

Symptom 7: low fan speed of the outdoor unit
■ When the air conditioner is in operation, the fan speed is adjusted to optimize the operation of the system.

TROUBLESHOOTING AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Air conditioner malfunctions and causes
If one of the following malfunctions occurs, stop the air conditioner, turn off the power, and contact your local service provider.

■ The unit operation indicator flickers rapidly (5 flickers per second). The operation indicator continues to flash rapidly after turning the power off and on again (see tables 7-1a, 7-1 b and 7-2).
■ The control unit has malfunctioned, or the buttons on the remote control do not work.
■ A safety device (fuse or circuit breaker) often trips.
■ Foreign objects or water get into the unit.
■ Water leaks from the indoor unit.
■ Other malfunctions occurred.
In case of malfunctions of the air conditioner, with the exception of the above cases or malfunctions, the causes of which are obvious, analyze the behavior of the air conditioner according to the recommendations below (see table).

Air conditioners have become indispensable household appliances designed to maintain human comfort. But due to the many different buttons, sometimes, especially for beginners, it is difficult to choose and find the appropriate air conditioning mode.

Using this device is not as difficult as it might seem at the very beginning. As a rule, buttons and their designations are the same on all remotes, and if you learn and remember them, you can easily use different models in the future.

The remote control is a monoblock with control buttons and a display on which the selected mode is displayed. At the very end is a special LED with infrared rays. Thanks to this diode, when directing the device to the air conditioning device, it is possible to remotely control household appliances. If you constantly press the button with your finger, the signal goes to the air conditioner all the time, and the battery charge is wasted. But in the calm state of the remote control, the battery is not active, which helps to consume electrical energy economically.

Remote with classic buttons

Conventions on the air conditioner

Consider the basic notation on the control device:

  1. The dry function, located in the air conditioner, drains the air in the apartment. This button helps a lot during rainy periods, in the autumn or in the spring, before the heating is turned on, when the humidity is increased in the room.
  2. Trp button means thermostatic valve is operating. In other words, this function can be used to adjust the cooling operation.
  3. The fan icon means fan speed control or airflow rate mode. By pressing this button again, you can change the speed to the desired one.
  4. The heat function on any air conditioner literally translates as heating. You can turn on the heating of the room due to the warm air flow. The heating mode heat is indicated by a schematic drawing of the sun on the air conditioner.
  5. The drainage mode is the same drive mode in the air conditioner, it is only called differently and has the designation in the form of a drop.
  6. The cool button performs the function of reverse heating. Thanks to this button, you can turn on the room cooling mode. This is especially good in the hot summer days when the heat makes the stay in a city apartment unbearable. This button is indicated by a snowflake.
  7. The TURBO function means enhanced blowing. By turning it on, you can force the fan to supply an increased air flow at high speed. Thus, the room is artificially ventilated without opening windows. And time will be spent many times less.

TURBO Button

  1. The Swing function helps the air to spread evenly throughout the apartment. This is due to the special movement of the dampers.
  2. Ifeel mode is designed to determine individual comfort temperature. Due to the fact that users often do not know what temperature in the room will be the most comfortable for them, a rash waste of electricity occurs. And in this case, I feel comes to the rescue. The technology is highly accurate: if for some reason the temperature in the apartment is lower than the required degree, a household appliance, set to this mode, begins to warm the air, including automatically the heat mode. Conversely, when the temperature rises, the device immediately turns on air cooling. Thanks to this function, the room temperature will be maintained the most comfortable for your stay.
  3. Hi or H1 - the designation of these signs appears on the screen during failures as an error. When these combinations appear on the display, you should know that for some reason the device has entered the defrost mode. In order to fix the error, just turn off the remote, wait a while and turn it on again. After that, you can set the desired mode.
  4. Pre def is also an error code commonly found in air conditioners. It means that contact with the temperature sensor is temporarily lost. This happens due to various malfunctions in the electronic system or in case of problems with electricity. In order to restore the operation of the device, you just need to wait until contact with the temperature sensor resumes.
  5. On timer / Off timer - setting will help to set the device to automatic mode. It can be configured to disable or enable the desired mode at a specific time. This feature is very convenient at night or during the absence of the owners of the apartment.

On / Off Timer Button

  1. The buttons to turn on and off the household appliance are necessary in order to turn the appliances on or off if necessary.
  2. The cancel button or CANCEL helps the user to cancel the mode set by mistake.
  3. Using the CLOCK button, you can set the time, which is very convenient for automatic mode, on and off timer, and just use this unit as a clock.
  4. The LOCK function helps lock all buttons on the remote. This function helps out when there are children or pets in the family, and they can accidentally click and thereby knock down all the settings.
  5. If the remote has a backlight function, the LED button may come in handy. It is needed to automatically illuminate the remote control. It helps out in the dark.

What to do if the air conditioner does not execute the remote control commands

If there is no reaction of the device to the console, you should:

  • make sure that the power supply system is working;
  • check the integrity of the case, screen, buttons;
  • make sure that the remote control emits infrared rays by taking a photograph, otherwise you will need to purchase a new remote control;
  • check the power supply in the room to eliminate the cause of power surges;
  • check batteries for performance.

In order for the remote control not to get lost and not subjected to mechanical impact, shock, pressing, you must purchase a special mount for it. You need to install it in a place accessible for use, improvised and convenient.

The remote control from the air conditioner is an important component of this household appliance. Without it, the air conditioner can only be started in automatic mode. But if for some reason the remote control is lost or broken and cannot be restored, you can purchase a universal one suitable for all models and manufacturers.

Universal remote control from air conditioners

The inverter air conditioner is a device whose operation is independently regulated by the compressor. Upon reaching maximum temperature, such an air conditioner does not turn off, but reduces degrees to maintain a comfortable temperature at a constant level.

If you take a little time and understand the notation of the buttons on the air conditioner remote control, it turns out that using this device is not so difficult. Moreover, only a few main buttons stand out, the rest are used quite rarely.
