How to choose winter boots. Boots for thin legs

Women make many demands on boots today: they should be comfortable, practical, worn for a long time, do not require special care, fit well on their feet, look beautiful, fit clothes, be fashionable. How to choose boots to meet all these criteria? Let's not lump everything together, but take the issue apart.

In terms of practicality

According to the material of manufacture, boots are divided into:

  • leather
  • leatherette
  • suede.

The most practical and long-lasting, of course, leather. They are not afraid of dirt and slush, their feet are warm and comfortable. To determine if it is leather in front of you, and not leatherette, find an unstitched area of \u200b\u200bleather and inspect it from the back. It should be rough. Plus, the leather smells different.

Leather boots are the most durable

Leatherette is also, in principle, a good option, but the legs sweat in it and there is little hope that boots made of it will last longer than one or two seasons.

Leatherette is a good option for one or two seasons.

Suede boots only for dry weather, or even better for traveling in a car

Faux fur can be passed off as natural. But natural, when pressed on it, instantly straightens and it is attached to the skin, and not to the fabric - by these signs you will recognize it. Also check if all parts of the boot are insulated with natural fur. It so happens that manufacturers, trying to save money, resort to tricks: they decorate the top with them, and use artificial fur in the lower, invisible part (in the toe area). Such shoes wear out quickly and warm up much worse.

Moving on to the sole and heel. The best materials they can be made from are rubber, polyurethane, and polyvinyl chloride. They are durable and moisture-proof. Plastics have a bad reputation. The sole of it quickly bursts, the heel often breaks. If you are looking for boots with stiletto heels, give preference to the all-metal version. In high-heeled boots, check the instep support: if the heel moves back when pressing on the instep area, then it is of poor quality. It is more convenient, of course, to have a small wide heel or its complete absence, especially during ice.

Sturdy heel is the best option for winter ice

Pay attention to the thickness of the sole. If the boots are winter, and she is thin - no more than 1 cm, this is not suitable for harsh winters. Test the glued sole for the quality of fastening by pulling on the edge.

When choosing boots with a zip, see if it closes on the inside along with the lining. If so, your feet will always be warm. When choosing a lace-up model, pay attention to where it starts. The closer to the toe, the better: it will be more comfortable to take off and put on shoes.

A few tips when trying on:

  1. Try on boots not on thin tights, but on the sock with which you will wear it (winter - with thick woolen, autumn - with cotton or synthetic).
  2. Don't buy winter boots one size larger, as is often advised. Even if you wear them with a warm sock, they will still spread, and the foot will “float” in them.
  3. It's okay if the tops of leather boots fit tightly. Natural material stretches over time.

How to choose boots in terms of beauty and fashion

Wrongly chosen boots can greatly spoil the impression of the appearance of their owner. Therefore, the model must be chosen taking into account the height, weight and shape of the legs:

  1. With wide calves, avoid models with large belts, fur or flashy decor - they visually enlarge them even more. Do not try to fix the problem by purchasing boots with tapered toes. They will squeeze the leg a lot, which can lead to health problems, not to mention discomfort. You need a vertical lacing model with knee length. Boots with cuffs slim the legs well. They should be worn with matching tights.
  2. If calves, on the contrary, thin, wide and voluminous models - made of “blown” material or with corrugation - can only aggravate the situation. If they are just a couple of centimeters wider than their calves, the thinness of the legs will become even more noticeable. Boots of light and bright colors, which will make the calves visually wider, are well suited for thin girls. In this case, tights should contrast with the shoes.
  3. What boots to choose for short stature? In this case, it is better to avoid models with a square toe and extended top. They make the legs visually fuller and wider.

The effect of long and slender legs will help create boots with a zipper or vertical lacing. If they also have a sharp toe, a small heel or a wedge heel, it's generally good.

  1. A wide foot will be "masked" by an almond-shaped or rounded toe. It will give the mistress of boots femininity and grace. Avoid straps and buckles around the ankles unless you want everyone to pay attention to your wide feet.
  2. With large feet, models with narrow noses and bright colors should be avoided. A rounded toe, dark color and platform are ideal for them.

Any woman wants to look relevant, to be in trend. Therefore, I would like to know what will be fashionable in the 2015/2016 season in order to take this into account when choosing boots.

To the great joy of the fair half, the designers this year made sure that everything is combined in one model at once: beauty, fashion, comfort, practicality.

Now you can find an option that fits all wardrobe items. Winter and autumn boots, in which you can go to work, and for a walk, and to the bazaar, wear both under a dress and under a skirt, and together with jeans - a dream that has finally come true. And now more specifically.

News number one: the boots are back. “And they never went anywhere,” you argue. Among the people - yes, but in the world of haute couture they paid more attention to other models. Now the balance has been restored, and we can see our favorite model on the shelves in new interesting variations.

Stocking boots are another trendy trend. They look very expressive, and besides, they are suitable for all winter clothes.

With the onset of cold weather, every woman thinks about how to choose winter shoes in order to feel comfortable even in the coldest weather. Although the range of such products is simply amazing, not all models provide the necessary warmth and look attractive. Useful advice from experts and stylists will help you make the right choice.

How to choose the right winter shoes?

To choose a really warm and high-quality model, you need to know many nuances of how to choose women's winter shoes. Before buying, it is very important to carefully examine the product, evaluate the quality of the seams and materials, and carefully examine the sole. Size is also of great importance - warm winter shoes for women should in no case press or chafe, but should not be too loose and dangle on the leg. Finally, the decisive factor should be the appearance - any modern woman of fashion will not be able to walk in an object that she absolutely does not like.

How to choose warm winter shoes?

In cold weather, the feet must be kept warm, since this part of the human body is extremely susceptible to hypothermia. In addition, if your feet get cold at least once, it will most likely lead to colds. To avoid hypothermia, you need to know a few rules on how to choose good winter shoes, for example:

  1. In a high-quality model, there must be a heater. As a rule, its functions are performed by natural fur, however, some young ladies prefer products with synthetic insulation, which warms up no worse. In the latter case, special attention must be paid to the manufacturer - good synthetic insulation is used only by proven brands that produce shoes for northern latitudes.
  2. The question of how to choose winter shoes with natural fur is of concern to many women. A huge number of unscrupulous sellers pass off artificial fibers for it, therefore, in order not to be mistaken, it is important to know a few useful recommendations. So, you can on the shine - it is more matte. When examining the model you like, it will be useful to slightly tug at the villi and stroke them against growth. If natural fur was used in the manufacture of shoes, nothing should remain in your hands, and the pile will return to its original position in a couple of seconds. Artificial analogs behave in a completely different way, moreover, they can emit an unpleasant smell.
  3. Pay attention to the location of the insulation. In many countries, cold temperatures prevail in winter, while real frosts are extremely rare. For this reason, in stores you can find a huge number of boots and boots made in the style of "Euro-winter" - the fur in them is located only in the lower part and almost never goes behind the ankle. If negative air temperatures prevail in your region, which persist for a long time, it is better to give preference to the option, the entire inner surface of which is filled with insulation.
  4. When answering the question of how to choose warm winter shoes, their size is very important. If it is chosen incorrectly, the legs will freeze, and regardless of whether this model is small or large. To avoid this, you need to carefully measure your favorite pair and make sure that there is a small space between the foot and the surface of the shoe for air circulation.

How to choose non-slip winter shoes?

In winter, not only does the likelihood of getting cold feet increase, but there is also a serious risk of slipping on an icy road, falling and getting injured. Many girls are wondering how to choose high-quality winter shoes that will not be slippery. The choice of outsole plays a decisive role in minimizing this risk. To date, the range of manufacturers includes different options - products with rubber, polyurethane or PVC soles. On slippery roads, PVC models are preferred, but polyurethane also behaves well.

In addition, experts recommend paying attention to the number of different teeth and protrusions - the more there are, the more confidence such shoes will give their owner on a slippery road. Be sure to make sure the sole is firmly sewn or glued to the main body of the garment. Although high-quality seams provide a more reliable grip, you should not give up glued models either - modern manufacturers use very strong glue that can easily replace firmware.

How to choose women's winter boots?

Most girls, when thinking about how to choose winter boots, first decide on the material. Products of modern manufacturers are made of leather, suede, synthetic fibers and much more. Not knowing all the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of these products, you can later be disappointed in the choice. In the meantime, there are many ways to determine how to choose good winter shoes so as not to experience the cold and discomfort.

Women's leather boots for the winter

As a rule, when wondering which winter boots to choose, women of fashion prefer genuine leather products. They are extremely resistant to deformation, perfectly retain heat and, moreover, are very practical. It is very easy to clean the leather of any dirt, including traces of salt, which often cause a complete loss of the appearance of shoes made of other materials.

Women's suede winter boots

Shoes made of natural suede look stylish and attractive, therefore they very often become the subject of choice for the fair sex. In addition, according to many women, shoes made of this material are much warmer than similar models made of leather. Meanwhile, suede is not at all practical - in dirty and slushy weather, traces of salt and dirt remain on it, which are very difficult to remove from the surface.

For this reason, both low and high suede boots for the winter can only be worn in frosty weather, when it is relatively clean outside. They go well with any model of jeans and dresses. These trendy and graceful shoes can be a great addition to a business, casual or romantic outfit, which is why they are preferred by many women.

Women's dutik for the winter

For girls who have to spend a lot of time outdoors, comfortable women's winter boots-dutik can be an excellent choice. These items have a polyurethane sole and a textile upper and look like they were inflated with air. Thanks to the air gap, these boots perfectly retain heat, but at the same time allow the feet to breathe, which is very important during long winter walks. In addition, many are covered with moisture-repellent materials, so they are virtually immune to the effects of slush and sleet.

Women's thermal boots for the winter

Recently, warm winter boots for women, made of artificial materials that do not allow cold air to pass through, have become extremely popular. On the seamy side of the upper layer in such shoes there is a special membrane through which sweat is removed, so that the body does not freeze. This option is one of the most preferred, as it provides fashionistas with comfort at temperatures down to -40 degrees Celsius.

How to choose women's winter boots?

Not all women give their preference to high boots, many opt for comfortable and warm boots, in which it is comfortable to move around in any weather. As a rule, such shoes are worn complete with trousers or jeans; they do not fit well with skirts and dresses. Nevertheless, women's winter boots with fur can have different stylistic performances - while some women of fashion prefer rude models in a masculine style, others choose feminine variations on a wedge.

How to choose winter ugg boots?

Some time ago, an incredibly comfortable type of winter shoes burst into the fashion world -. These warm sheepskin boots, although they have a very unusual appearance, go well with various wardrobe items, they warm very quickly and reliably retain heat. It is necessary to choose ugg boots taking into account the following nuances:

  • for maximum comfort, the sheepskin should be thick and soft, and all its fibers should be of the same length;
  • the sole should be flexible and thick;
  • all joints in such products must be perfectly smooth and neat;
  • for slushy weather, choose leather winter ugg boots for women, which are not so susceptible to moisture and dirt.

Women's winter high boots

For those women who prefer comfort in everything, winter boots with natural fur are perfect. These shoes are incredibly warm and comfortable, however, due to their original appearance, it is not easy to combine them with various wardrobe items and accessories. So, this model is categorically not combined with evening dresses and made in a classic style. It is necessary to choose high fur boots based on the quality of the fur - it should be dense and even, and when checking with your fingers, the villi should not fall out.

When our hands freeze in winter, we, of course, experience discomfort, but we may well endure such inconvenience for some time. When the legs turn out to be numb, the cold fetters the whole body, and we only want one thing - to get warm as soon as possible. In order to stay warm in winter, you need the “right” winter shoes, and we'll show you how to choose them.

What should be winter boots

When choosing winter bootsthe priority should be:

  • safety. Difficult winter conditions increase the level of injury, and therefore winter shoes should be as stable as possible and have an anti-slip sole;
  • convenience. Moving on snow and ice, we increase the load on the ankle joint. If at the same time he will be in an uncomfortable position, then by the evening you may not get home, and crawl. Therefore, no super slim tops and stilettos. They should be replaced by a loose fit and wide heels.

Material

We hope no one needs to be convinced that genuine leather on the outside and natural fur on the inside are the perfect combination that can provide warmth and comfort to your feet in severe frost. Of course, leather has a higher price than leatherette, but it serves much more. If the average service life of leatherette boots is a year, then leather shoes with proper care will last five years.

By the way, suede winter shoes, although beautiful, are impractical. Dirt and salt, which are sprinkled on our roads from snow, leave traces on it, which over time becomes more difficult to remove even with the help of special means. “Bald patches” appear on the suede surface - they spoil the presentation of shoes, which often cost more than ordinary leather ones.

The advantages of natural fur over artificial fur are also obvious. Thick, soft tsigeyka keeps warmth, unlike the interior decoration made of synthetic fibers. It also absorbs moisture well, so your feet stay dry and then stay warm outside.

But faux fur cannot boast of such abilities. Of course, you can learn how to get rid of shoe odors at home and try to combat sweaty amber. But all the same it is better not to bring it to this.

Sole

The thinner the sole, the colder the feet. Therefore, try to choose boots with thicker soles. But do not overdo it: the thick platform does not allow the foot to "feel" the road, impairing stability.

A prerequisite for comfortable and safe winter shoes is the presence of a grooved pattern on the outsole - it reduces slip and reduces the likelihood of falling. By the way, the best material for the outsole for the cold season is rubber and polyurethane. Due to their porous structure, they increase the frictional force and also do not allow water to pass through.

Say a hard no to plastic heels. This material becomes very fragile in the cold and breaks easily, shortening the life of your favorite shoes.

Fittings

When choosing between lacing and zipper, rely only on your own preferences, but consider:

  • lacing allows you to wrap your leg more tightly and does not break at the most crucial moment;
  • you can fasten the lock even with hands stiff from the cold, but to tie the laces - alas, no.

Rhinestones, rivets, metal decorative fasteners give the shoe aesthetic appeal, but negatively affect the service life. The metal fades, the stones fall off, and the recently purchased boots start to look bad. Therefore, we advise you to choose models with a minimum of decorative elements and carefully check the reliability of their fixation during fitting.

Winter shoes: features of choice

  • spend more, but buy leather boots that last more than one year than a pair of leatherette that may not last until the end of the season. The advice of an experienced shoemaker will help to distinguish the skin from its artificial counterpart:

  • winter shoes should be slightly loose. Tight boots squeeze the vessels of the legs, slowing down blood circulation and causing a feeling of freezing;
  • try on winter boots in those tights, stockings, socks in which you plan to walk in the cold, otherwise you risk choosing the wrong size;
  • when buying shoes with heels, place them on a horizontal surface and press on the instep with your hand. If the boot bends, and the heel moves to the side, then it has a bad instep support. Such "snowmobiles" are not suitable for the winter;
The instep support is an internal part of the bottom of the shoe, attached to the insole, or between the insole and the half insole, designed to reduce the load on the arch of the foot and the dimensional stability of the sole. Wikipedia
  • if your leg is no longer growing, buy shoes in advance, at seasonal sales. So you can purchase a leather product relatively inexpensively.

Enjoy the shopping!

Winter is approaching, the cold is coming, so today I want to talk about how to choose the right high-quality and inexpensive winter shoes.

In this article there will be no water and general phrases that no one needs for nothing. There will be only useful information, only facts and specifics.

I will tell you what to look for when buying winter shoes, as well as give a couple of practical tips that will help you not only stay healthy, but also save money.

1. Choose the right time, size and width of your shoes

In markets and / or shoe stores, people prefer to appear in the morning. Like, now we'll buy everything quickly and then free all day.

From the point of view of practicality, this is correct. But not from the point of view of physiology.

The fact is that every person's legs always swell a little in the evening. And shoes bought in the morning can be squeezed in the evening.

Therefore, I personally recommend buying shoes in the afternoon. You need to choose the size as follows: there should be a distance between the tip of the thumb and the toe of the shoe, approximately equal to the length of the thumbnail.

I do not recommend buying too tight boots and / or boots. They squeeze the foot and disrupt blood circulation in it. As a result, your feet will freeze. But what's even worse is the increased risk of arthrosis.

2. Choose the right sole and insoles

It is advisable to buy winter shoes with non-slip ribbed soles. The deeper and more prominent the protectors, the better! You yourself understand what conditions we live in: slippery, snow, blizzards and swearing. This is not the United States or even Spain, where people swim in the sea in winter.

At the same time, the sole should be flexible (the better it bends, the higher the probability that it is of high quality), thick (about one centimeter), should not lag behind and get wet.

Generally, the waterproofness of the outsole depends on how it is attached to the shoe. There are several of the most commonly used types of fastening: stitch, glue, and lithium glue.

When it comes to insoles, you should not buy shoes with hard insoles. This can lead to blisters. I recommend choosing soft (always thick) insoles.

If the insoles are thin, the cold will penetrate through the sole. Which will not add to your joy and comfort at all.

3. Do not buy high-heeled shoes in winter.

I am always smiled by girls who are ceremoniously prancing in winter on the road in stiletto heels. How beautiful they can be!

Remember ladies, for women's winter shoes the ideal heel is wide and low. Maximum 4 centimeters. Otherwise, there is a risk that your beautiful legs and other limbs will come into contact with the gray and unattractive asphalt.

It will also be quite useful if you ate boots, girls, you will have high ones - they will protect your ankles from the cold. And if the length is above the knees, then also the knees. This is especially true if you prefer to wear skirts or short dresses.

It's easier for men in this matter. We don't wear hairpins. Skirts too. Well, as for winter shoes, a small heel (one and a half centimeters) is welcome! It provides much better stability than a flat sole.

And, to be honest, I generally don't recommend wearing flat-soled shoes in winter. Orthopedic surgeons say that a flat sole deforms the foot.

4. Choose shoes with the right insulation

The best and most reliable insulation for winter shoes is, of course, natural fur. It ensures normal air exchange, so that the feet do not sweat and do not cool down.

In second place is printed natural fur. This fur is sewn onto a fabric base. It's also pretty good. And in some cases, it can give odds to completely natural fur. Thanks to the fabric, these shoes dry faster.

It is very simple to distinguish faux fur from natural: it has an unnatural bright shine, is easily pulled out, and resembles a plush toy to the touch.

You can also opt for shoes with artificial modern insulation (for example, such as thinsulate). They are sometimes no worse than fur. At the same time, they dry faster.

5. What to choose: suede, leather or leatherette?

I even see how many will fanatically prove that there is no finer and better material than genuine leather. After all, it is just ideal for winter severe frosts and slush (it takes the shape of a leg, keeps heat well and does not allow moisture to pass through).

And suede is fu-fu-fu. It gets dirty quickly and is completely impractical. In general, you need to keep quiet about leatherette, because it is such a cocoa that you cannot say in a fairy tale or describe it with a pen.

In some ways, of course, they will be right. And in some ways, frankly, no!

Here's what I suggest. I will now list the pros and cons of both leather and suede shoes. And you yourself will decide what is closer to you.

Pros and cons of genuine leather shoes

Pros: practical and comfortable. The skin adjusts to the shape of the foot. Doesn't get wet. Keeps warm well. Suitable for all seasons.

Minuses: inexpressive outwardly. High price. There is a risk of buying a fake, although a horseman-seller will punch himself in the chest, insisting that this is the most natural of all natural leather in the world. Poor air permeability (this factor depends on the type of leather).

Pros and cons of suede shoes

Pros: the price is lower than for leather. Outwardly, the shoes are very elegant and attractive. Nice to the touch. Soft and lightweight. Warm and comfortable (in no way inferior to leather). Has good breathability.

Minuses: in comparison with leather shoes it is not so practical to wear. Requires special care. In wet weather and slush, traces of salt and dirt remain on it.

As for leatherette, here I will agree that this is not the best option for winter. Such shoes can pass moisture, not retain heat, and crack in the cold. Agree, into its furnace!

It is better to buy shoes once at above average prices, which you will then wear for two or three years, than to buy cheap shoes and then just throw them away.

6. Be sure to try on shoes

Do not under any circumstances buy shoes without trying them on. Especially in winter! Even if you saw a super great deal on the internet.

The point is that no two pairs of shoes are alike. Different shoes from different manufacturers differ significantly in size. And in the end, by ordering boots or shoes of your standard size online, you can in fact get shoes one size or two smaller (Chinese, they are!).

Also, I do not recommend listening to the sweet speeches of a consultant who will flood like a nightingale that you are just a star in these shoes! And the fact that you are a little cramped - so the skin will stretch, and the fur will drown! These are new shoes!

Girls are more susceptible to this influence, for whom it is very important to hear opinions from the outside. Men are more persistent in this regard.

The rules for trying on winter shoes are quite simple: you need to measure both boots or boots. Be sure to walk in the shoes of the there-court. Your legs should not be cramped (whatever the consultant says). The boot should not squeeze the leg, and the big toe should not rest on the toe.
